Summer vacation signals good times for students. Out of school, no homework assignments, no school projects, no tests, no pop quizzes, no chance of being tardy – the business of school’s practically shelved. With such wonderful news you would think Karen Laurente jumping up and down for joy.
Well, she writes us this letter. The news surprised us. We admire this young lady’s resourcefulness. Read on…
Good day to you Sir. I hope and I pray that you, your family and all the kind and generous people who continue to support our education are always in their best of health.
I write this letter to tell you that I passed the examination for a summer job. Last March 27, 2013 the Tagudin Municipal government gave a test to pre-qualify students applying for summer jobs. The chief clerk proctored the test at the municipal hall.
There were many job applicants who took the test. I am happy to report to you I was one of the 40 lucky students, who will begin working on April 15, 2013. The summer job will be at the municipal hall and will last until May 10, 2013.
My Mom shares my excitement. I want to let you know that I might be busy during those dates and if ever my fellow SAS Ai scholars will have activities scheduled during those dates, I may not able to join them and I apologize for that.
But if ever I will have some free time, I will definitely join my fellow scholars.
That’s all for now Sir and I thank you for always keeping in touch with us. Once again, good day and God bless.
Karen typifies the SAS Ai scholar. Bright, promising and competitive, these kids come from poor families. SAS Ai’s mission is to help these kids get a good high school education at SAS. With your continued generous donations to the scholarship fund, we can continue to give them the financial aid until they finish school.
