Choices we make

Just make sure the other shoe is not at the edge of the precipice

Ever wonder how we got to where we are today – successful, barely making it, comfortable, not so well, or perhaps even just getting by? As people, or as collective members of a group, we are where we are because of the choices we made along the way.

Life’s journey goes through ups and downs, and hidden booby traps. Ruts and potholes pockmarks the road. Boulders and bramble bushes obscure the view. Navigating life’s road takes more than courage; it takes moxie, level-headedness, prudence, persistence, being true to and knowing oneself. It takes staying on course.

Recklessness derails us, impeding our progress. Bad habits obscure and distort our view forcing us to slow down. We learn from our mistakes – supposedly, and it helps if we are not deaf, not oblivious and capable of picking up new skills.

The choices we make decide if we arrive at our destination safely and whole. Our choices shape our quality of life. Am I preaching to the choir?
